Welcome
Did someone call or text you, and ask you to call a number back? Before you dial, Callback Check walks you through a few quick questions about that number and how it reached you — and tells you what it finds.
It only takes a couple of minutes. We recommend using a screenshot or photo instead of typing the number in — caller ID, a text, a voicemail, or even a sticker or label with the number on it. It doesn't have to be a perfect picture — angled, creased, or folded is usually fine. Typing it by hand is easy to get a digit wrong on; a photo skips that risk entirely. Either way, you'll always see the number and get a chance to check it before anything runs.

Callback Check works on your phone or your computer, but we recommend using your phone — that's usually where the call or text came in, and it makes adding a photo easier too.
Note: Numbers you check are remembered on this device only, so we can warn you if one comes back. If you answer any of the optional Cover Your Assets questions in this app, that one note is shared with Cover Your Assets — nothing else about your check leaves your phone.

One-time setup
Copy it on this phone, paste it here. It stays on your device.
In Step 1 of 6
Tap in the box above to type the number β or, if you have a screenshot or photo with the number in it, It doesn't need to be a perfect picture β angled, creased, or folded is usually fine.
This is the photo you picked.
Step 3 of 6
A bank, Social Security, Amazon, the power company, a family member β whatever they claimed.
Tap the box to bring up your keyboard.
Step 4 of 6
Pick everything that applies.
Step 5 of 6
Tap the box to bring up your keyboard.
Optional
A photo of the voicemail, text, email, or caller ID often shows more than words can. Take one now or choose one from your photos — nothing is added unless you choose one. If it's a long voicemail transcript or text thread, you can add more than one.
Before we check it
Read it through. Tap Back if anything is wrong, or tap Check this number to continue.

Why
Remember: a real bank, government office, or company will never mind you hanging up and calling their published number back. Anyone who pressures you not to is telling you what they are.
Type or dictate your question in the box below, then tap Ask.
The numbers you checked stay on this phone, so we can warn you if one of them comes back. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Callback Check will be here whenever you need it.
